How to provide skills needed in Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 environments?
With 4SiM Project

A novel simulation environment of socio-technical systems in manufacturing and a related learning platform

4SiM is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education project that aims to enable educators of the European manufacturing workforce to equip learners with the skills required to operate effectively in Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 environments. Implemented by a trans-European consortium consisting of higher education institutions, a vocational training and occupational safety organization, and an industrial research and development partner, 4SiM Project will provide a learning platform related to its mission.

Our Solution

  • An AI-supported, case-based and simulation-driven learning ecosystem for sustainable and human-centric manufacturing.

  • Students test decisions in a risk-free environment before touching production lines, aligning with future digital twins.

  • Project outputs are packaged for reuse: instructor notes, case assets, and assessment ideas that travel across courses and sites.

Advantages

  • Curricula with experiential learning that mirrors complex socio-technical realities, improving engagement and outcomes.
  • Human-centric and sustainable production contributes to resilient European industry and better workplaces.
  • All results, tools, and guides are published openly. The consortium organizes workshops, webinars, and networking events to promote the adoption of the 4SiM platform in higher education and industry training, ensuring long-term impact and sustainability.
