A digital energy ecosystem? CELINE
An integrated and participatory digital framework to accelerate the digital transformation of the energy ecosystem
The CELINE project aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the energy ecosystem (especially Energy Communities) by developing an integrated, user-friendly digital framework. This framework will enhance local energy production, consumption, and market participation, addressing regulatory, technical, and economic barriers. CELINE focuses on cross-sector data connectivity, citizen empowerment, and standardized digital services.

Our solution
The CELINE project aims to create a cross-sectoral digital energy ecosystem by:
- Developing digital tools for a secure and efficient data collection, management, and exchange, across the energy sector.
- Facilitating local energy exchange and peer-to-peer trading through new business models.
- Promoting citizen participation and empowerment with co-design methodologies, participatory governance and training programs.
- Defining standardized policies and frameworks to align with the needs and regulations of the energy communities.
- CELINE’s demonstrations across Europe (Spain, Finland, and Italy) will validate its scalable and adaptable solutions for diverse energy community models.
Advantages
Through pilot demonstrations across Europe, co-design methodologies, and innovative business models, CELINE fosters community-led energy management, promoting a decentralized, sustainable, and inclusive energy transition. Project impacts:
- Strengthen market participation for citizens and local actors.
- Improve data connectivity across energy and economic sectors.
- Support local energy autonomy and resilience, decreasing the dependence on centralized providers.
- Promote social inclusion and equity in the energy transition.
- Encourage cross-industry collaboration for a more integrated and sustainable energy ecosystem.
